The death date is given in the notes of his grandson Nunzio's wedding certificate (1856), in reference to the "avo paterno dello sposo" ("paternal grandfather of the groom").
Illuminato's death date was given in his grandson Nunzio Sr.'s marriage certificate (1856), which referred to the "avo paterno della sposa" ("paternal grandfather of the bride").
Like his father, Illuminato was a "mulattiere", a mule driver.
In some sources he is called Pietro.
After Antonino's death, Fortunata married two more times: Agrippino Campisi (1812 in Mineo) and Paolo Gulizia (1826 in Mineo).
After her husband Sebastiano died, Maria married Custode Bellissima (1799–1855) in 1845.
